சிங்கப்பூர் தக்ஷிண பாரத ப்ராம்மண சபா(SDBBS) வழக்கம் போல் இந்த ஆண்டும் யஜுர் உபாகர்மாவுக்கென்று மிகச்சிறப்பான ஏற்பாடுகளைச் செய்திருந்தது. நான் மூன்றாவது கோஷ்டியில் (10 மணி) பங்கு பெற்றேன். 900 பேர் வந்திருந்ததாகத் தெரிவித்தார்கள். அதற்கு முன்னர் 2 கோஷ்டிகள் முடிந்துவிட்டிருந்தன. காமோகார்ஷீ ஜபம் முதல், காண்டரிஷி தர்ப்பணம், இறுதியில் வேத ஆரம்பம் வரை நிறுத்தி நிதானமாக சபா வாத்யார் மைக் மூலம் நடத்தி வைத்தார். சங்கல்பம் செய்து வைக்கும் போது பூர்ணா புஷ்களாம்பா ஸமேத தர்மஸாஸ்தா துவங்கி, இனி ஒரு ஸ்வாமி இல்லை என்னும் படியாக அனைவரையும் வேண்டிக்கொண்டு செய்துவைத்தார். பரமேஸ்வரப் ப்ரீர்த்தியர்த்தம் சொன்னவுடன் நாராயணப் ப்ரீர்த்தியர்த்தம் சொல்லத் தவறவில்லை. தலை ஆவணி அவிட்ட வடுக்கள் ஹோமம் செய்தனர். சில வாண்டுகள் ஹோமம் செய்யும் அண்ணன் அருகில் கள்ளப்பூணுல் போட்டுக்கொண்டு வால்த்தனம் செய்துகொண்டிருந்தன. சின்ன வேஷ்டி கட்டிக்கொண்டு தவழ்ந்து வந்து பஞ்ச பாத்திரங்களில் விஷமம் பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்த சின்னக் கண்ணனைத் துரத்திக் கொண்டு அவன் அம்மா ஓடிக்கொண்டிருந்தாள். சபாவில் ஸம்ஸ்க்ருத வகுப்புகள், ருத்ரம், சமகம் வகுப்புகள் துவங்குகிறார்கள். பாரதி வேதம் வளர்த்த தமிழ் நாடு என்று பாடினான். இப்போது இருந்தால் சிங்கப்பூரைப் பாடியிருப்பான். சிங்கப்பூரில் யஜுர் உபாகர்மா இன்னும் எனக்கு எத்தனை முறை வாய்த்திருக்கிறது என்று தெரியவில்லை. சிரத்தையுடன் செய்கிறார்கள். வாழ்க வளமுடன்.

A sickening sight. Any festive gathering should be of people belonging to a religious faith or a particular country, or speaking a particular language or likewise. What is the gathering at Singapore? It is of people speaking different languages perhaps, unknown to one another also but ‘brahmins’ by birth. Shame.

Language, though different, is not a divider. The culture unites over linguistic and other differences. Unlike linguistic Churches, sanatan dharma doesn’t have linguistic groups.

Yes, yes. The brahminical culture unites. But where is sanatan dharma here? In fact, where is the basic dharma here? It is a casteist gathering. Every hindu in Singapore should have participated in it. By excluding majority of hindus, you are isolating yourself. After some years, only the so called brahmins will be within ‘sanatan adharma’. Carry on.

Your argument is based on hate that has emanated from south India. This culture spans languages. The event was to offer thanks to the Rishis and saints and the vedas that they had given. And what is there in the vedas is worship of nature – varunan, vaayu, Agni et al. There are community based organisations every where. Chettiars are a leading philanthropic community in Singapore and Malaysia. They congregate for their purposes. This avani avittam is for a different purpose by a different group. Either you read or you listen. If you don’t do both, then you end up in hate and are consumed by hatred. A basic grounding in Tamil would have opened your idea of what vasuda evam kudumbakam is, what the Azhwars and Natabmars said. Thanks for visiting.

Wonderful. Rishis had given vedas and are being thanked. They had given them to brahmins and hence brahmins are thanking rishis. So, according to you, vedas were not given to the majority of people in India. Hence, brahmins are not hindus or majority of Indians are not hindus. This is what you mean to say. See how the cat slowly comes out!
You are talking about chettiars, community, etc. All these are your contributions. You made four and the four became four thousand and now you pose to be an innocent person.
Whether you will allow any hindu to participate in your thanks giving function? You will ask him about his caste and if he is not a brahmin, you will throw him out. Because the vedic mantras should not fall in his ears. Your forefathers stopped reciting the mantras on seeing thirumazhisai alwar. Such things happen in any other faith or religion?
Bible and Quran are being distributed to everyone without discrimination. Differences in those religions are akin to differences between thenkalai, vadakalai, or between iyers and iyengars. Animosity, illwill and all bad things exist between groups but they have no sanction in their respective holy books. Reasons are political, geographical, racial factors. Each group considers itself superior over others (like thenkalai, vadakalai) and welcome the opponent to join and accept their philosophy. Can you accept even a chettiar to sit in your goshti to do upaakarma?
No, the prasthanatrayi does not permit it. They preach birth based caste discrimination. This is where the vedic philosophy falters.
