My dear CM Stalin..

Dear CM Stalin – Vanakkam. I, a citizen of India who happens to have Tamil as my mother tongue and a resident of Tamil Nadu, write to you as a representative for a million silent citizens who have the said characteristics as above.

I give a damn about your politics, diatribe, stance on issues of national and regional importance. I can possibly forgive all these antics.

But, when it comes to issues of national security, I will not pardon you or your govt if your govt doesn’t act on social media posts that are inimical to national interests. Your party could be in power today, may go out of power tomorrow and may be, form govt again. But what remains constant is the concept of India as a nation and its social fabric.

I see social media posts that are doubting the pre and post Pahalgam attack scenarios. Many in your political coalition, usual rabble rousers, are exceeding all limits and are questioning the integrity of the forces, the central agencies and to sum it all, indirectly ridiculing the sacrifice of the 26 innocent civilians- Hindus, Christians & a Muslim.

Rein in these loud mouths. Opposing the Prime Minister and his team on this national tragedy does not amount to supporting the fellow citizens of India who happen to be Muslims by faith. For God’s sake, don’t let elements in your party and coalition run amuck and alienate our Muslim brothers from the mainstream – precisely what Pakistan wants.

While the nation decides what to do with Pakistan, ensure you execute your oath of allegiance to the constitution. Stop these underlings of your party from voicing anti-India verbiage. Be reminded of the unified voice of Tamil Nadu during Kargil war and many other wars that preceded that.

Remember what your father, the late Karunanidhi would have done, in these circumstances. May be the legendary C.N.Annadurai for that matter.

Let me reiterate. We are Indians first and happen to have Tamil as our mother tongue. That does not, in any way, lower our patriotism towards India, that is Bharat, nor our love of this ancient land of the Azhwars and Nayanmars – Tamil Nadu.

A public note from your social media handles reigning in these forces & a note to the suppliant mainstream media on this would go a long way and may be, you would be remembered as a leader who overcame politics to stand up to adversity and joined forces to save the nation in such a trying time.

On national matters, Tamil Nadu sides with the legendary Muthuramalinga Thevar who considered nationalism and divinity as his two eyes.

Reminding you of the words of Poet Bharathi, I conclude :

வேத முடையதிந்த நாடு, – நல்ல வீரர் பிறந்த திந்த நாடு,

சேதமில் லாதஹிந்து ஸ்தானம் – இதைத் தெய்வமென்று கும்பிடடி பாப்பா.

வாழிய செந்தமிழ் வாழ்க நற்றமிழர் வாழிய பாரத மணித்திரு நாடு.
