Why do women wear lipstick ?

When you see more women wearing lipstick, beware.

Not because of anything else sinister here. The more you see women wearing lipstick, the worse economy is.

No, I am not bluffing here. This is what Leonard Lauder, Chairman of Cosmetics conglomerate, Estee Lauder, has said. And it is has been scientifically proven as well.

Women wear lipstick for seeking attention. And when economy stalls or is going down, there is supposed to be lesser number of higher spending males. As the number of wealthy males become scarce, women ‘enhance’ their appeal by applying more lipstick. Preposterous it might sound. But this has been a research topic for some time now.

So, the sale of lipstick is inversely proportional to the condition of the economy.

And the index is ‘Lipstick Index’.
