‘Hatred’s Kingdom’ – a review

Saudi Arabia is the fountainhead of global terrorism. It has camouflaged terror sponsorship under religious support. The world knows this and Dr.Dore Gold explains this with lots of reference material. Most of the reference material are of Saudi government origin.

The book starts from the 1700s tracing the birth and growth of Saudi Arabia as a tribal conglomerate. The way the Al Saud clan monopolized the other tribes, how they bought peace with the puritanical Wahhabi sect of Islam, the massacres that were conducted under religious cover, the fall of the Ottoman empire , the subsequent rise of the Wahhabi preachers and the intricate complicity of the Saud family in the growth of the intolerant Wahhabi sect – all these are dealt with in detail in this book.

The details are mind boggling; reference materials are so voluminous that they themselves could form a book on their own.

The gore, the debauchery, the internecine fights that result in gory massacre of the non-Muslims ( as per Wahhabi definition ), the support that Saudi Arabia provides to terrorist groups even post 9/11 are frightening and troubling at the same time.

The US is not criticized by Dr.Gold even as the former is involved in many covert and overt support activities for Saudi Arabia due to the oil reserves.

A riveting and compelling read to anybody interested in knowing the origins of global terrorism.

What if you don’t read this book :  You wouldn’t lose anything except that you wouldn’t know why most of the 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia.

What if you read this book : You would start paying attention to news every time a Saudi prince pays a visit to the US.
