Inculcating a Love for Books

Imagine a job where you are surrounded by books, novels, and stories. You visit various schools to tell stories to young children, take them through interesting and engaging activities, and awaken their creativity and imagination. Sounds like a utopian thing to do, does it not?

At Multi Story Learning (MSL), which is based in Chennai since December 2009, this dream job has become a reality. MSL was founded by Amrutash Misra and Naresh R, graduates of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, in an effort to get school children to read more books and inculcate the habit of reading in them.

MSL’s key service is the Book Lovers’ Program for Schools (BLPS), which includes storytelling workshops and accompanying manuals for teachers, storybooks for the library, an activity book for each student, and regular weekly visits by storytellers.
